Frequently Asked Questions

We know meeting people for the first time and going to a new church can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at The Crossing a great one! See some of the most frequently asked questions below.

Q: Is there something for my children?

A: Children’s programming is available during the worship service, except for Communion Sundays. The kids will have a blast, but most importantly, they’re going to learn A LOT!  Your kids will want to come again, and again, and again.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Worship at The Crossing is a casual atmosphere that welcomes you to “come as you are.” You will find people dressed in jeans and t-shirts and some who prefer to where suits and dresses. We invite you to join us for worship in whatever is most comfortable to you. We figure God’s concerned about what our insides are like, so we really don’t get too uptight about what’s on the outside

Q: What should I expect?

A: The first thing you should expect is to be greeted by friendly people who will make you feel welcome. From classrooms and finding your way into the Worship Center, to getting your children to our kids’ programs, you’ll find that we’ve been waiting for you, and we’re glad you’re here.

  1. You should expect to feel valued.  You matter to God, so you matter to us.
  2. You should expect to be accepted for who you are.  All comers are welcome.
  3. You should expect to be inspired.
  4. You should expect to be challenged.  Growth = change.  No one can grow without change, and few people change without being challenged.
  5. You should expect to find partners and friends to help you in your life journey.  Everything is more fun when you’re part of a team.
  6. You should expect excellence in everything.  God spared nothing in giving the best He had for us.  We will give our best for you.

Q: When do I need to arrive?

A: We have coffee and breakfast foods waiting for you. Feel free to arrive prior to the start of worship so we can show you around and get to know you.

Q: Is there a handicap entrance?

A: Our Wilson Avenue (Oil City) worship facility has a handicap ramp entrance off of Third street.  There is limited handicap parking on this side of our building.

Q: What is the worship service like?

A: Our worship music is vibrant, accented by a variety of instruments.  We offer a “blended” style of worship that features both the contemporary worship music of today and the traditional songs of our faith.
